Retired subject advisor for Mathematics FET (18 years) at Umgungundlovu District in the KZNDoE. Former maths teacher/lecturer at Indumiso College of Education (14 years), Mehlokazulu High School (2 years) and Amakholwa High School (2 years).
A member of the Hilton College’s outreach project committee, The Vula Project for Mathematics and Science. An honorary member of the Maritzburg College Old Boys.
DD Msomi

Rare Msomi is a retired Mathematics and Science teacher. He has extensive experience in teaching Mathematics at High school level and as a Mathematics Teacher Educator at tertiary level.
Before retirement, he was an Academic Manager at one of the TVET colleges in KZN for 14 years. He played a leading role in the founding of the Khanyabha Academy.
CS Mtshali

The former head of the KZN Museum Education Section, which offers various heritage, historical, cultural and scientific-related services to the general public and learners.
Prior to this, she worked in non-governmental organisations in various fields of social work – hospital social work, empowering people who are physically impaired, fighting crime and reintegrating offenders.
During her retirement, she served on the Heraldry Council, a governing and policy-making body for the Bureau of Heraldry. She also served on the Msunduzi Hospice Association Management Committee providing support to services rendered to communities.
Mr Andile Jordan is an accomplished andexperienced professional accountant. He has worked in various entities andcurrently runs his own office. He is affiliated with the ProfessionalAccountants (SA), Professional Tax Practitioner (SA) and Is a Registered Independent Reviewer.
He is also a member of the institute ofDirectors of Southern Africa. He has served as a Council member with thePietermaritzburg Agency for Christian Social Awareness (PACSA) and a boardmember of various institutions including Edendale Hospital, Fort NapierHospital, Thandanani Children’s Foundation and others. His strengths include the ability to identifyand solve business-related problems; ability to identify and perform researchin a business environment.
Mr Jordan is currently a member of Risk,Performance and Audit Committee and also of the Municipality and DevelopmentAgency.He holds the following qualifications:B Com, B Tech,MBA and other qualifications.
Mr Morwangwato Donald Nkadimeng (Business Development).
Mr Nkadimeng is a transformation manager. He has a proven record of building and leading high performance transformation initiatives. He is adept at developing strategic partnerships to drive new business opportunities.
One of his background strengths is in corporate social initiatives (CSI). He has more than 15 years in delivering transformation intelligence in the corporate entities. He is currently holding a position of CSI Manager at Hulamin, Pietermaritzburg.
Mr Nkadimeng holds the following qualifications: Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM); B Com (Accounting) and other qualifications.
Ms Jabu Bhengu (Marketing)
Ms Bhengu is a former high school principal and has extensive experience in development work. She was a director of KZN Provincial Road Network under the Department of Transport. Amongst her achievements and highlights, her responsibility involved the inclusion of women as contractors in the maintenance of road network in the province.
She was appointed as Director: Special Projects in the KZN Ministry of Education where she led the project that established the education centres in all districts of KZN. The project was a partnership with MIET Africa. Subsequent to her retirement she joined Africa Ignite’s Board as an advisor. She also became a board member of the Ingonyama Trust. Ms Bhengu holds the following qualifications: B.A. Honours, Advanced Diploma in Information Science and Secondary Teachers Diploma.
Mr Archie Dlulisa, ( Curriculum)
Mr Dlulisa is a retired High School principal with 36 years’ service experience. He was a mathematics teacher for many years and won a number of best teacher awards in the province as well as at national levels.
Mr Dlulisa played a leading role in the formation of Pietermaritzburg Maths and Science Teacher Association (PIMSTA). He was also a prominent member of the following teacher organisations: AMES; ASESA and VULA Project. He served in a number of boards including the DUT Advisory Board (Education), VULA and the Programme for Engineering Careers (PROTEC).
He has been involved as a part-time lecturer/Tutor at DUT, UKZN and UNISA for the Bed and PGCE students.
Mr Dlulisa holds the following qualifications: BEd, BA, FDE, SED.
Meet our Tutors
G.P. Manamela
G.P. Manamela started her career in 2000 as a Maths and Science teacher at Swayimane High School. She moved to Bongudunga Senior Secondary Scholl in 2003.
In 2007 she transferred to Emjindini Secondary in Barbeton in the Mpumalanga Province. It was here that her leadership qualities were identified and sharpened when she was the Emjindini Circuit Physical Science coordinator.
She subsequently moved back to Pietermaritzburg and is currently teaching at Bongudunga School. Her passion for Maths and Science got her involved in a number of academies like the defunct Thembalethu Maths and Science Academy. Her involvement in the academies and school-based extra classes is driven by her obsession for the enhancement of young Maths and Science talent. She joined Khanya-Bha in 2019.
Sindi Msimang
I am Sindi Msimang I hold a B Tech in Food and Nutrition And a B ed majoring in Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
As a passionate teacher, I have seen the devastating effects of curricula on children.Parents, teachers and children are often overwhelmed with the amount of work and homework assigned and the frequency of assessments, all while juggling every other aspect life hands us. As a teacher who has experience in teaching Abet, GET,and FET phase.
SG Duma
Mr S.G Duma is an acting principal at Msimude High school, he is also teaching Physical Science in grade 10, 11 and 12, Technology grade 8 and Natural Science grade 8 at Msimude High School.
He has vast experience in Physical Science, in 2012-2014 he was appointed as Deputy Chief marker by the Department of Education in KwaZulu Natal for Physical Science grade 12 Paper 2 at the marking centre.
Prior to the teaching field, he worked for Blomeyer’s Electrical Company in Pietermaritzburg as an electrical apprentice.
M Hlatshwayo
Mavis Hlatshwayo is an accomplished, motivated and adaptable high school teacher with outstanding classroom management skills and experience.
She has a passion for helping learners of all abilities to reach their full potential.She has taught in high schools in Zimbabwe and South Africa. With a 26 years career in teaching and tutoring Maths and Life Sciences she has the skills to deliver engaging lessons and has impressive results.
PE Latha
P. E. Latha is a Mathematics teacher at Copesville Secondary School. He taught at Mavumengwane High School in the King Cetshwayo District for 5 years and also at Nogunjwa Secondary for 3 years. He has been with Khanya-Bha since 2018.
His responsibilities include planning lessons, developing in-class room strategies and assisting learners with homework and projects. He has had good Grade 12 results for the last 14 years.
